I think it was once a Honda Del Sol.....but now, now it's an abomination that should be put out of it's misery.

I thought the same. And, may I add, sold my CRX Si just before I went to law school (didn't need a car) and had my eyes set on the replacement. Then they replace that car with a del Sol? Are you fucking kidding me?

Lol, yeah the 2 cars share nothing in common. Not in the design language, or general ethos of the car, and it's a shame too, the CRX is a fun little car.

A Honda Del Sol with jeep rear lights used as side markers, are those red tail lights Ferrari lights??
And looks to have the trunk fake light from a corolla
Oh and the car mat mud guards

When I got out of law school, I suppose I was in a different place. Wanted a Mustang GT convertible, but I couldn't get the seat far enough away from the clutch (a problem they solved the following year, about a year too late). Gravitated to a '97 SHO on the lot, shopped an SVX (they were sitting on dealer lots for months, but none would go below 30K) so went back to the SHO and bought it for change - cloth, not leather, so it had been sitting as well. Odd that I went for two slushbox-only cars. If I had it to do again? 3 series (more money) or a used Toyota Supra, the last gen.

That poor, poor little del Sol. I think I might cry. Why do people enjoy being idiots?

Dude, I loved my Del Sol! It wasn't a hot hatch like the CRX, but it was such as fun car. Some of the best summer memories I have are me just blasting around in that car with the top down.

Even I feel badly for a car as ill-conceived as the del Sol. With sun ... who gives two shits when there is no serious engine?

I had a 1993 Si for years and years, and absolutely adored it. I'm still actively looking for another one in decent condition, but the search goes slowly, mostly because of idiots doing stuff like that to them.

If only you had my '91 CRX Si - white, so clean when I sold it in 94. No accidents, no issues, ran it on Mobil 1 - brakes, clutch pretty much as new. No mods, probably worth a nice chunk of change now, unmolested. Wonder what happened to it ...?

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't intending to put the car down. It's just that it was such a departure from the CRX in every what that I find it a shame that they marketed it as a replacement for the CRX rather than what it was; more of a dedicated sports car.

That roof line makes it clear it's a Honda Civic Del Sol.
